Works have now commenced to deliver the 32 new affordable homes on the site of the former Pells school.

The scheme will provide:

  • Two 2-bedroom and twelve 3-bedroom semi-detached homes for shared ownership
  • Four 1-bedroom and ten 2-bedroom flats for affordable rent
  • Four 1-bedroom flats for Lewes low-cost housing rent

This will be our second net zero carbon new build scheme (the first being Chavecroft), providing much-needed affordable homes for local people that are both warm and comfortable, but also efficient to heat.

They will be built using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and is being delivered by a local modular housing contractor, Boutique Modern, based in Newhaven. This approach aims to help positively drive environmental and material efficiency of the development; as well as significantly reduce the number of deliveries to site and the impact on the existing local community.

To enquire about shared ownership properties please see our Raven Homes website for further information and to register your interest. Nominations for the affordable rent and Lewes low-cost rented properties will be allocated by Lewes District Council.

The new homes are due to be completed by late 2024 / early 2025.
