Coronation weekend celebrations

We’ve put together this round up of community events taking place over the King’s Coronation Bank Holiday weekend – a great opportunity to get together with your local community!

Saturday 6th May

Crawley street party

Family entertainment in the Memorial Gardens from 11am-4pm with The Spinettes, ‘Squirrel Walnutkins saves the planet’ theatre show and local talent groups, community stalls, children’s activities and street food traders.

Turners Hill street party

Starting from noon at The Crown and on East Street. There will be a BBQ with a free burger and drink per person as well as children’s activities.

Charlwood village party

From 5:30pm for the rec there will be a bar, BBQ and raffle plus bouncy castles, craft activities and live music. You’re welcome to set up a gazebo from 11am and there will be a prize for the best dressed!

Sunday 7th May

Tea in the park – Horley

Take a blanket and a picnic along to Horley Recreation ground from 2-4pm to join the celebrations. Susy radio will be doing an outdoor broadcast on the day and the Redhill Corps of Drums will be performing.

East Grinstead street party

Head to the High Street in East Grinstead from 1-5pm for a free afternoon of live music and celebration. Take a chair and picnic to join in the fun!

Salfords big lunch party

At Salfords Social club from 12-4pm there will be live entertainment, stalls, bouncy castle, a BBQ and more! You’re welcome to take a picnic.

Smallfield coronation celebration

Lots of children’s activities, refreshments and live music from 3-9pm at Centenary Hall, Smallfield.

South Park Sports & Social Club celebration

From 12:30pm onwards there will be lots of activities, a BBQ and live music.

 

Monday 8th May

DorKing coronation celebration – 12-4pm

There’s lots going on in Dorking to celebrate the coronation. From a free window art trail, kids entertainment and live music acts. Find out more here.

Epsom picnic in the park

From 1:30pm in Alexandra Park – take a picnic and enjoy the celebrations!

Big volunteer day, Merstham

At the Scout Hut on Battlebridge Lane. From 10am-12pm for a volunteer meet and greet to find out about volunteering opportunities in the area and 12-3pm for all the community for a BBQ and snacks.

Royal gardening party on Observatory Walk, Redhill

We’ve donated refreshments to this fantastic community event where there will be lots of fun activities for the kids from 3pm. There will be lots of gardening and painting equipment provided and you’re invited to help complete the beautiful community garden for all to enjoy. Find out more here.
