Woodhatch Easter Fun Day and the Great Merstham Litter Pick

We had a brilliant time at the weekend in Woodhatch and Merstham getting involved in some fantastic community events!

On Saturday we were at the Woodhatch Easter Fun Day at Woodhatch Community Centre and here’s Conrad, one of our neighbourhood wardens, with the Easter bunny (Neil, another of our neighbourhood wardens!) It was a great turn out with lots of fun activities for the children and of course lots of Easter treats!

There’s always plenty going on at the Woodhatch Community Centre weekly as well as special events like this one. To find out what’s on, head to their Facebook group here.

Poster competition entries

On Sunday we were in Merstham for the Great Merstham Litter Pick where 60 members of the community came together to clear up lots of litter with lots of enthusiasm and smiles. In the run up to the day there was a litter picking poster competition, an ideal Easter activity for local children to get involved in. There were 61 fantastic entries, so it was incredibly hard to choose the winners! Here are the winning entries from the three age categories – 7 and under, 8-12, 13-16.  We’ll be getting these posters made into signs to put up around Merstham to remind people not to litter.

If you’re interested in getting involved with litter picking in Merstham, you can join the ‘Hamsters Pickers’ Facebook group for more information.

A huge thank you to Woodhatch Community Centre, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, Merstham Community Facility, Hamsters Pickers and everyone who came along for making these events happen!
