Residents get into the festive spirit

Residents at community-based housing provider, Raven Housing Trust’s, Silvermere
sheltered scheme got firmly into the festive spirit this week at their annual Christmas party.

40 residents from the 55-and-over scheme enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas bingo and
buffet food, while being entertained by a local singer. Residents were even treated to a visit
from Father Christmas himself during the festivities.

Raven wanted to bring everyone together to enjoy some fun activities and socialising in the
run up to Christmas to help spread some joy to residents that may be facing a difficult time
this winter season.

Jaime Neale, Supported Housing Manager at Raven, said: “Christmas is meant to be a time
of celebration and laughter, but with the deepening financial crisis, cost-of-living issues, and
the bitterly cold weather we’ve experienced recently, we understand that it may not be quite
so happy for some households this year. We wanted our residents to be able to come
together to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, games and surprises to bring some sparkle
to this time of year. Our dedicated staff members, of course, got involved in the fun too —
enjoying a game of bingo and a mince pie…or two.”
