Everyone deserves to feel safe at home
June marks Pride Month, an opportunity to celebrate, recognise and stand alongside lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and other LGBTQ+ people. It also leads into ASB Awareness Week, which runs from 29th June until 5th July and focuses on making communities safer by encouraging people to recognise, report and respond to anti-social behaviour.
As we mark Pride and support ASB Awareness Week, our message is clear: discrimination, harassment, hate incidents and anti-social behaviour have no place in our communities, and everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
It’s important to us that every customer feels safe and comfortable in their home. We know that LGBTQ+ people can sometimes be at greater risk of harassment, hate incidents or feeling unsafe where they live. These concerns are dealt with by our Tenancy Enforcement team and they are something we take very seriously.
If you feel unsafe, or if you experience abuse, harassment or anti-social behaviour because of who you are, please tell us. We will listen, offer support and handle your concerns with sensitivity and respect.
- Hate and harassment will not be tolerated
- We will take reports of hate incidents, harassment and anti-social behaviour seriously and respond
- Help and support are available if you need them.
Our homes and neighbourhoods are made stronger by the different people and experiences within them, and Pride Month reminds us of that. ASB Awareness Week is another reminder that safe, respectful communities depend on people feeling able to speak up and get support when behaviour causes harm, fear or distress.
“ASB Awareness Week is a timely reminder that harassment, hate incidents and anti-social behaviour can have a serious impact, and that customers should not feel they have to deal with it alone. If any customer is experiencing harassment or feels unsafe, we want them to get in touch so we can help and support them.”
