Introducing our new gas contractor

We’re pleased announce that our new gas contractor is Gas Call Services. Gas Call Services is working in partnership with Raven and will be carrying out gas safety checks and boiler repairs on Raven properties from 1st October 2023.

What will Gas Call Services be doing for Raven?

All annual gas safety appointments, gas servicing and boiler repairs will be booked with Gas Call Services instead of Smith & Byford from 1st October 2023.

We’ll be working with Smith & Byford to ensure any outstanding work is completed. Smith & Byford will also continue with our new boiler installation programme alongside Gas Call Services until October 2024. This programme will then be fully taken over by Gas Call Services.

Why the change in gas contractor?

We’re constantly reviewing our contractors to make sure we’re getting the best value for money, and service for our customers and as our gas contract was up for renewal, it was time to put it out to tender. It was a thorough tender process and members of our Customer Voice Panel were involved to make sure your needs as a customer were fully considered.

What’s going to be different? We Hear You!

We listen to your feedback and this was considered at every stage of the tender for a new gas contractor. One of the biggest issues you tell us about has been the lack of flexibility with appointments. We have considered this with our new partnership with Gas Call Services and if the appointment you’re first given is unsuitable, there is now flexibility to choose another one that works for you.

You’ll notice that engineers will be wearing uniforms with the Gas Call Services and Raven logo and Gas Call Services vans will also have the Raven logo on. As with Raven staff, you can request a password when booking your appointment to provide reassurance that it’s one of the Gas Call Services engineers you’re letting into your home.

You can report gas boiler repairs and discuss annual gas safety checks by calling the dedicated Raven customer Gas Call Services number: 0330 002 1169 from 1st October 2023.

Your safety is our priority and we appreciate your support in working with Gas Call Services to allow them access to your home to carry out their safety checks and repairs. It’s really important that we’re able to check your gas appliances to make sure you and your neighbours are safe.
