Our Executive Management team manages Raven and are overseen by a non-executive Board of Directors.
Jonathan Higgs, Chief Executive joined Raven in August 2010. Jonathan worked for two house builders before joining Gloucestershire Housing Association as Development Director. He has been Chief Executive of Gloucestershire HA, and Oxford Citizens HA, and prior to joining Raven was Managing Director at Home Group. He has been vice chair of Placeshapers, a national network of over 100 housing associations and is a member of the National Housing Federation’s South East Standing Board. He has been a non-executive Director of two housing associations, an ALMO, and a variety of regeneration vehicles, which is where his passion lies. Jonathan has a degree in Geography, a degree in Town Planning, and an MBA.
Nigel Newman, Director of Strategy & Growth, joined Raven from Thames Valley Housing in 2009 where he was Head of Services. Prior to joining Raven, he has a career in local government and the housing association sectors; he has worked in social housing since 1991. Nigel is a Board member at Inquilab Housing Association where he is also a member of the Audit and Assurance Committee. Nigel is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, has a degree in Social Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in Housing Policy and an MA in Housing Administration.
Amy Cheswick, Director of Customers and Partners, joined Raven in 2013. Amy joined Raven from Paragon Community Housing Group where she was Group Head of Tenancy Services. Amy has worked in housing since 1994, including roles with Moat Housing Group, Hyde Housing Group, Richmond Churches Housing Trust and Elmbridge Housing Trust. Amy has served as a Board member and is a former Chair of the Chartered Institute of Housing South East Board. Amy has also served as a Director of Resolve (formerly Social Landlords Crime and Nuisance Group). Amy has a degree in History, post graduate diploma in Housing Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Alison Bennett, Development Director joined Raven in March 2018 from Saxon Weald Homes where she was Head of Programme and Sales. Ali’s career has focused on Development and Sales where she has held a number of roles and provided consultancy services to Local Authorities. She is a Board member of Sutton Housing Society. Ali is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, a Full Member of the Association of Project Managers and MSP foundation Programme Manager
Julia Mixter, Director of Transformation, joined Raven in October 2018 as Director of Transformation. Julia has worked in Human Resources since 1998, most recently as Director of Human Resources for the Royal Automobile Club where she was shortlisted for Outstanding HR Leader of the Year in Hospitality (2018), and prior to that as Director of People and Operations at The Children’s Trust and Senior HRBP at Transport for London. Julia has acted in a voluntary capacity as an Executive Adviser to the Polka Theatre and as a Careers Enterprise Adviser to a number of local schools. Julia holds a degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate diploma in Strategic Human Resources Management and is FCIPD qualified.
Joanna Hills, Director of Assets & Services, joined Raven in 2014. Jo is a chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. She has many years of experience as an engineer and director in construction and maintenance across the public, charitable and commercial sectors. Jo is a board member at Sutton Housing Partnership where she is also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, and is Chair of Reigate Quaker Housing Association.
