Safeguarding - protecting people from sexual abuse and harassment
Sexual abuse and harassment is a severe problem in many parts of society, and Raven treats all allegations of sexual abuse very seriously and will investigate each report thoroughly. We also have a confidential ‘whistle-blowing’ email address and dedicated staff, who are trained to deal with reports of sexual abuse and harassment.
It’s vital for us to not only raise the awareness of this problem amongst staff, and improve how we handle complaints, but also to change the culture in which we work to prevent abuse happening in the first place. For those who are brave enough to speak out against abuse, we will stand by and support them.
At Raven, we recognise that we have a duty to protect our residents from all forms of abuse and that all everyone should be able to live their lives without fear.
So we actively encourage people to report concerns – and as a result, we have seen an increase in people coming forward to report abuse. We believe that being open and transparent about the problem is how we’re going to tackle it.
