Outdoor Maintenance

Our grounds maintenance contractors now run our contracts on a performance basis to make sure standards are maintained all year.

 

This maintenance is monitored by ourselves together with you and the contractors using standards set out in this photobook. Please note, to keep the costs you pay as low as possible, the contractors are not required to collect or remove grass clippings

The contractors also run an assisted gardening scheme, annual tree planting, apprentice and career talks and carry out an annual customer satisfaction survey.

Q: Who do I contact if I think the quality of the grass maintenance does not look the Photo book?

A: If you feel your communal outdoor area is below the B standard shown in this book, please call us on 0300 123 3399 or email raven@ravenht.org.uk

 

Q: The grass, hedges and shrubs are overgrown. When will the contractor visit next?

A: These grow at different rates during the year so the maintenance is based on quality all year round rather than visit frequency. However to see when the contractor is next expected to be in your area please look on local noticeboards or select your area from 'In Your Area' on the homepage. Please note no major hedge works will be carried out during bird nesting season which is 1st March to 31st July.

 

Q: I think urgent work needs to be done on a tree. How quickly will the contractor respond?

A: Please call us on 0300 123 3399 during office hours (Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm). Once we contact them, they respond within 24 hours in urgent cases.

 

Q: There are hedges outside my home which have never been cut. The contractor has told me it's not part of their work. What happens now?

A: Please call us on 0300 123 3399 and we will check whether the hedges are on our land. If they are, we can add this to their contract to make sure they get cut in future.

 

Q: Can you remove grass cuttings in our area?

A: Yes but there will be a cost to do this. We will need to make sure all residents in your area agree to this charge. Please call us on 0300 123 3399 and speak to our contracts manager.

 

Q: Can I give some feedback on the contractors’ service?

A: Yes, please do. We have an email address/web address for your comments, suggestions and complaints. The contractors also carry out an annual survey to ask fro your comments, in addition to the monthly telephone surveys we carry out.

 

Q: What kind of weed killer do you use?

A: A low-chemical spray is used to gradually eradicate weeds on paths and pavements. Dead weeds will be removed within two weeks of spraying.
