Raven's Footprint
Raven works hard to ensure that its carbon footprint and environmental impact is kept to a minimum.
It is important to monitor environmental impact to ensure that work done to reduce carbon emissions is effective and is making a difference.
Raven has made several changes to the way we work and the materials that we use in our offices. This includes:
- upgrading the computer servers
- changing the lighting in and around our Raven House and Marbles Way offices
- training our staff to drive more efficiently
- changing our servicing depot for trades vehicles from Crawley to Redhill
- encouraging staff to be more energy efficient in the office by switching off lights, using the lift less and reducing paper consumption.
Raven works in conjunction with the Carbon Trust to ensure that this work is effectively reducing our carbon footprint. Over the last two years Raven's carbon footprint was:
- 622 tonnes in 2008-09.
- 573 tonnes in 2009-10.
These figures are based on the gas and electricity use for Raven House and Marbles Way offices, as well as the fuel used for our trades fleet, resulting in a reduction of 8% in the last financial year. It breaks down as:

We periodically review how much gas, electricity and fuel we are using and make improvements throughout the year.
We aim to reduce this even further for 2010-11, watch this space for the results!
