Planning Applications

Purbeck Close, Merstham

In August 2010, Raven was granted planning permission to demolish 34 properties in Purbeck Close in order to redevelop the site for 49 new homes. The demolition of the vacant properties begun in Spring 2011, however, plans to redevelop the site are currently on hold. The funding regime for affordable housing has changed since the Coalition Government took over power and the amount of funding available is to be greatly reduced. We are therfore looking at how these changes affect our development programme.

Crawley Temporary Accommodation Project

Raven is also working with Crawley Borough Council to redevelop some of their hostels into self contained flats for temporary accommodation. Planning permission has been obtained to redevelop 3 sites:-

8 Goffs Park Rd - demolition of the existing property and building 4 x 1 bedroom and 2 x 2 bedroom flats

1 & 3 Denne Rd - demolition of the existing property and building 4 x 1 bedroom and 4 x 2 bedroom flats

70 Spencer Rd - demolition of the existing property and building 8 x 1 bedroom and 5 x 2 bedroom flats

We aim to start development works in Autumn 2011, with the completion by the end of 2012.

Merrick Hse, Reigate

Following refusal of a planning application to demolish the existing development and construct 27 new homes on the grounds of over development, Raven has submitted a revised planning application for 17 leasehold flats for the over 55's. Raven are hoping to receive a decision from Reigate & Banstead Planning department by mid May 2011. However, even if the planning application is successful there are no plans to commence works on the site as yet. Currently the existing flats are being let to Key Workers on a temporary basis.
