Raven staff raise over £1000 for local charity Loveworks
22 January 2012
Staff at Raven have run a variety of fundraising events during 2011, raising over £1000 for Loveworks, a charity which carries out projects for local people in need.Raven staff have been busy during 2011 organising events such as a beauty evening, auctions and raffles. Proceeds from the staff 'tuck shop' have also been added to the pot which came in at just over £1000 – the most ever raised by Raven staff during one year.
Loveworks, based in Reigate, Surrey, encourages local people to volunteer to help those in need in the community. They work in partnership with other charities and each of their projects are a tailor-made response to local need and designed to make people going through hardship feel valued and special at a time when they really need it.
Sue Lea, Raven's communications officer said 'Every year, Raven chooses a charity to support, and last year we chose Loveworks because of the great work they do for people in the areas where Raven works. All our staff have been really enthusiastic about supporting Loveworks, and have had fun doing so.'
Loveworks' founder Linda Sourris said, ""Well done everyone at Raven! This is a great example of what a local company can do for its community when the staff enthusiastically get behind fundraising. It is particularly meaningful for us to receive the donation from Raven who we've worked closely with on our projects."
