Raven achieves bronze Investors in People
24 November 2011
Raven has achieved the higher level bronze award of the Investors in People (IiP) standard this month, following a successful review by an independent assessor.Twenty five staff from two Raven offices were interviewed against a further 26 standards in addition to the core standards usual for an IiP review.
Raven was first recognised against the IiP standard in 2005 and was successfully reviewed in 2008. It now plans to go for the gold standard in 2013.
David Loft, head of HR explains: "Going for bronze was both about gaining recognition for the areas of good practice that we have achieved and learning where we could improve. The assessment was a good way of identifying the areas that we need to continue to improve, and measuring what we do against a nationally-recognised benchmark.
"We were particularly keen to find out how effective managers are in coaching, motivation, communication and involvement. The review was also an opportunity to start to look at health and wellbeing, which is currently under review."
Areas where Raven performed well included business strategy – proving that Raven staff are clear about Raven's strategic direction and its mission and values – and a number of areas of people management.
