SOS! New service launched for older people

14 November 2011

Raven has launched its 'Sheltered Outreach Service' (SOS) for Raven residents over 60.

The service, which is being piloted in the Tadworth area, supports people to continue to live independently in their own homes by offering extra support and linking them to Raven's existing sheltered schemes.

The support provided includes a phone call every weekday and a visit twice a week from one of Raven's sheltered housing officers. Residents will get information about other services including social care, health care and local groups and will also be able to join events and activities held at Raven's sheltered schemes.

Claire Motler, sheltered housing manager, explains: "This service is designed to help people who wish to continue living independently but may need a bit of extra support.

Raven has a superb track record of providing the highest quality services to older people and we hope the new scheme will offer reassurance and continued independence to residents and their families."
