26 August 2011
The Merstham Ecohouse microsite has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Award in the "Best website or microsite" category. The Merstham Ecohouse microsite - www.ravenht.org.uk/ecohouse -launched by Raven earlier this year, has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Award in the "Best website or microsite" category.
The PRide Awards is the only awards scheme which showcases the best PR work being carried out across the UK regions and nations. There were in excess of 1,000 entries to this year's awards. The full short list can be viewed here on the CIPR's website.
Claire Lipop, Raven's head of environmental sustainability, explained: "Our Merstham Eco-Makeover Project set out to transform an ordinary house in Merstham, Surrey into a highly energy-efficient home - while the six-person family still lived there. We fitted a range of technologies, trialling what might work in the future. The family and Raven use a monitoring system, showing energy use by each appliance, including lighting, to check exactly how much energy is being used.
"The ecohouse website was the way we chose to share the findings of the project. We are delighted that the site's been recognised for the way it clearly explains the project and keeps people up to date with developments at the house."
Commenting on the PRide shortlist, Jane Wilson CIPR CEO said:
'The CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the best PR and campaigns from the profession across the UK. To be shortlisted for an Award demonstrates exemplary achievement, impact and value – immediately putting their work in the spotlight. Congratulations to everyone for reaching this stage.'
Winners will be announced at presentation dinners taking place in each of the twelve participating regions from October to December.
